Proposed Projects

The Canajoharie Local Planning Committee (LPC) is seeking proposals for potential projects to be included in the Canajoharie Strategic Investment Plan (SIP).*

The submission of project proposals is open to the public, and projects will be selected based on the evaluation criteria defined within the Open Call for Project Proposals. Hand-delivered applications are due by July 24, 2025 at 4PM, electronic submissions are due by July 25 at 4PM, and mailed submissions must be postmarked no later than July 25, 2025.

*If your project was included in the Village’s NY Forward application, you must resubmit your project through this Open Call to be considered for NY Forward funding.

Open Call “Office Hours” available for project sponsors!

Project sponsors are invited to schedule a 30 minute, one-on-one session with Canajoharie’s NY Forward consultant team (Laberge) to discuss a potential project prior to LPC meeting #2. The project team will also be available to provide technical assistance to project sponsors at Public Workshop 1.

Decarbonization 101 Webinars

Potential project sponsors do not need to join both sessions. Please attend the session that is most convenient for you. The information presented at each session will be identical.  

Option #1: June 25, 2025 from 2PM - 3PM

Option #2: July 15, 2025 from 10AM - 11AM

This webinar will provide an introduction to decarbonization and the reduction of carbon emissions by improving the design and construction of buildings and how they use energy. Key topics include an overview of decarbonization and an introduction to different types of decarbonization strategies that can be incorporated into DRI/NYF building projects.

  • Eligible applicants are those sponsored by a public, non-profit or private entity with legal authority to undertake the project

    • Public Improvement Projects

    • New Development/Rehabilitation of Downtown Buildings

    • Façade enhancements or small scale building renovations

    • Branding and Marketing for downtown

  • NYF Projects must:

    • Be located within the NYF Boundary

    • Be able to break ground within two years of receiving funding

    • Have financing largely in place

    • Must have site control or be in the process of obtaining site control
